So... Uh... What Happened With the Bull?
We've entered the second half of our four-part discussion of the House of Night series by PC Cast and Kristin Cast in this episode. We're talking about Burned, Awakened and Destined, books seven, eight and nine of the series, and things take a turn toward Darkness in these books. Yeah, that's Darkness with a Capital D. There will be spoilers in this post, hell, there already have been, so if you aren't caught up, maybe you shouldn't read past this first paragraph. In fact, I'll go ahead right now and stick in our recording picture with our guest, Koreigh, who is obsessed with House of Night, and now, with Fictional Hangover as well. Claire is pensive, Koreigh is cute and, well, what the hell am I doing? Who knows.
Anyway, now that you're down here, that must mean that you are ready to be spoiled or you don't care about spoilers. I mean, if you're listening to the podcast, you must not care about spoilers. Or, you know, you've read the books. Which is good. Either way, be prepared. Spoilers are happening soon. At least one part is going to be spoiled. And it probably already was in the title. But you know what? It's weird and I wanted to mention it, so deal with it.
Zoey and the rest of her Nerd Herd have been doing their best to combat evil and maintain the balance between Light and Dark up until this point, but it's getting a little bit more difficult to do so. Zoey's soul has just been shattered and now she's wandering jitteringly through the Otherworld. Her friends have got to figure out how to help her pull herself back together if they're ever going to defeat the Darkness that's taking over Tulsa.
Speaking of Darkness...
That part of House of Night takes place in the books we discuss this time. Don't know what I'm referring to? Well... Use your worst imagination. Or highlight this next bit of empty space.
Neferet, the villainess of all villains, has given herself to Darkness, fully and completely. Darkness is represented by a massive bull.
So yes, Neferet had sex with a bull.
That's pretty dark. And we're not even finished with the series yet. Is it going to get worse? Read the books or stick around for our last House of Night episode to be released to find out. That episode is currently slated for release on February 19. Can you wait that long? I can't!!! I'm probably going to start reading them as soon as I finish writing this post.
Merry meet, merry part and merry meet again.
