My TBR pile is taller than I am.
There are so many titles I want to read and ones I need to reread for the podcast and ones that are coming out soon that I'm waiting for so the ones I want to read that I already have will of course be set aside when those arrive and ones that don't come out for months and months that I want to read on day one but I won't be able to read because I'll be wrapped up in something else.
Wait. You don't care about that yet. Let me start over.
Hi. I'm Amanda. I'm a librarian. I like to read books. And listen to them. Maybe I like listening to them more.... I live in the Pacific Northwest with my husband and two cats. My friend Amber who lives in the complete opposite corner of the country suggested we start a podcast and blog and all that jazz because we like to read books and talk about them but we don't get to see each other so much anymore, so here we are. Starting one. You'll get to meet her soon. She's pretty great, but busier than I am.
So anyway, we like to read books and talk about them and we thought you might be interested in listening to what we have to say. We'll talk about one book or series at a time, its highs and lows, what we'd do in the characters' shoes, the best parts and the worst parts, definitely lots of spoilers, and play a rousing game of MFK, sometimes even with the authors! We'll discuss our favorite young adult books, characters, genres and more and just why they are our favorites. If you listen long enough, they might become your favorites, too!
Now, back to me rambling about having too many books to read. Don't get me wrong. I'm excited that there are so many amazing books being published by amazing authors and that I am able to borrow them for free from the library or purchase them from my local bookstores. But there are so many! Just this month there's a new one by Kendare Blake and Marie Lu and Scott Westerfield and Patrick Ness, and next month Laini Taylor and Mackenzi Lee and Julie Kagawa and PC Cast. And those are just authors that I already know about. What about new authors that I haven't discovered yet who have great stories to tell? My, oh my. Like I said before, so many books, so little time.
Do you have any favorites that you think we need to read? Let us know by submitting a comment at the bottom of the page. I've got to go now, a book I put on hold on Overdrive from the library just came in and I need to listen to it.
Amanda
