In this episode of the show, Claire and I discuss Let It Snow by Maureen Johnson, John Green and Lauren Myracle.
And guys...
We didn't love it.
Or even like it really.
I take it back. We enjoyed the first story, Jubilee Express, by Maureen Johnson. It was great. A little heartwarming. The perfect amount of humor. Good all around.
The second story, A Cheertastic Christmas Miracle, was akin to taking the One Ring to Mordor. But instead of the One Ring, it was Twister. And instead of Mordor, it was Waffle House. It felt like years and years of walking through the snow to maybe see cheerleaders play Twister. It did inspire me to eat hash browns at Waffle House though, so I'm going to do that since I'm in Arkansas visiting family. I have to post a video for Claire involving hash browns, so you'll see it, too, I suppose.
The third story, The Patron Saint of Pigs, made us so angry. The main character was terrible. Selfish. Awful. There are not enough words to describe how much we disliked the third story.
Here's a picture of us while recording. You can really see how we feel about the book.
Since this book spawned a Netflix movie, we've decided to watch it and record an episode at the same time, so look out for that next week. Hopefully it'll be better... Right?
Right?!
