Any book is good book and this one is... well... it's... something anyway. Going Bovine by Libba Bray is definitely not like the other books we've covered on the show. It's surreal and heart-wrenching and funny and tragic and weird. Mostly weird. And so is the episode.
Going Bovine about an apathetic teen named Cameron who gets Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, aka Mad Cow disease, and then goes on an epic quest from Texas to Florida with a hypochondriac little person, a punk rock angel and a Viking garden gnome. AND NONE OF THAT IS EVEN WHAT IS WEIRD. You can read the summary for it here, but you should definitely listen to the episode because it's really, really great. It's moving and thoughtful and also silly. And we made it even sillier because we added filters to our Zoom recording.
