WOW! 100 Episodes!

Okay... so technically... if you count the BONUS episodes, we're over 100, but we're not counting those because they're BONUS, right? SO! This is the 100th episode of Fictional Hangover! Hooray! I can't believe I've been doing this podcast for 100 episodes. Who would've thought it would still be a thing? I'm ridiculously proud of this show. It's been a huge part of my life for almost two years and I don't want it to ever stop. Hopefully it won't and hopefully one day I'll actually be able to make money doing it, but for now, we're going to keep on trucking just like we have been. This episode is all about the short story Heads Will Roll by Lish McBride. You can read it by clicking that link then listen to the episode where we talk about it and play Would You Rather and play a new game called Bring Your Own Book. You can also watch the video on Facebook.

Looking back over the first 100 episodes, I have several favorite moments and some not so favorite moments and I'm going to talk about them... now!

TOP FAVORITE MOMENTS:

Making friends with authors and voice actors! If you've been on the show before, you are my friend and I will keep you forever and ever. I will always share your projects and shout from the rooftops how great you are.

Making friends with listeners! Of course I love making friends with listeners, too. Hell, if I didn't, I wouldn't have a co-host and the show probably would have died after the first year. But let's save that bit for later... I love all the listeners the show has, especially the ones that constantly interact with the show on social media. Always do this all the time!

Sharing my love of reading with others. Even though I am not currently a practicing librarian, I love that I am still able to share my love of books with others. It's not in person and I'm not actually placing a book in your hands, but hopefully I'm placing the idea of one in your ears and then you read the books, too and then you share them with your friends and it's just one big never ending cycle of book love.

NOT SO FAVORITE MOMENTS:

Losing my first co-host. That was a devastating time for me. I was so worried that the show was going to end, but it didn't. Luckily I was able to gently coerce a listener into joining me and now my life will never be the same. So maybe this should be moved up? I don't know. That might not be nice.

Being technologically cursed. Thankfully that's over now I think, unless I've just cursed us again... But man, oh man, losing the audio from the Dawn Kurtagich Halloween episode really hurt. She's one of my absolute favorite authors and I really want you guys to hear us have a conversation. Hopefully the next time will go smoothly. Yes, there's always a next time.

Freaking Pandemics. Yeah yeah, everyone hates that. But still. It sucks.

WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD?

The future of Fictional Hangover is bright and shiny! We've got lots of great book themes planned for our book club next year, we're making plans with more authors and voice actors, we're revisiting some old favorite books and covering more brand new ones, and eventually putting up written summaries of all the books we've covered. And maybe we'll do more video episodes! Who knows! Stick around and see what happens!

Love, always and forever,

Amanda

Here's nearly 100 pictures from our episodes. Whoa! That's a lot!
