Renegades or So Many Superheroes

In this episode of the show, Claire and I talk about Renegades by Marissa Meyer. Thanks Koreigh for suggesting this one to us, we really liked it! The discussion of the book led to us talking a lot about other superheroes, too. You can clearly tell that Claire loves DC and I prefer Marvel but we both love X-Men and Ninja Turtles.

We also both love talking with our hands and making great faces. We tried out Zoom this time so we have video of our full discussion which we usually only have when we have guests because we use Skype for that, but I mean, everyone else is using Zoom now, so we had to try it out. Yes, apparently when our friends jump off a bridge we are following right behind. Anyway, I was able to catch some very nice scenes thanks to Zoom. Please ignore the fact that my face is shiny and I barely have eyebrows. Or appreciate the fact that I love you enough to share these pictures anyway. Claire is cute as always, but I'm a swamp monster.

This book is all about a villain secretly joining up with the heroes with plans to sabotage them from the inside out. But is she really a villain? And how heroic are the heroes we're dealing with here? Everything's kind of grey with no one really being too terrible and no one being too great. There are some fantastic powers, like being able to bring your drawings to life, turning into a ton of butterflies, controlling bees, using fears against your enemies and putting people to sleep with a touch. There is also a GREAT cliffhanger ending! Loved it! But I'm not going to tell you what it is. You'll have to read the book or listen to the show to find out.

Okay, get to it!
