Amanda is a Librarian that pretty much only reads YA books. Her dream job, other than being a librarian, is to be a voice actor. She also cosplays WAY TOO MUCH.

Amanda spent the first 20 some odd years of her life in Arkansas where she did typical growing up things like going to school, going to college, getting married, going to graduate school. She did those things pretty well if she does say so herself. She worked in youth services at a couple of nearby public libraries before she up and moved to Florida to become a Teen Librarian there. She let her husband come along because he's cute and she likes him. They lived in a couple of different cities in Florida for a few years where she switched from being a Teen Librarian to an Early Literacy Librarian and then they moved back to Arkansas where she became the Head of Youth Services in a different local library. They lived there for a few years again until they moved to Seattle in 2018. This time it was her husband who got a cool job and let Amanda tag along. He's nice like that. This is around the same time that the podcast happened! Hooray! Now, in the present day, Amanda and her husband live in Arkansas and she's a librarian again. Her dreams of becoming a voice actor have come true and she has two audiobooks available on Audible. How to Write an Emotionally Resonant Werewolf Novel and Daughter of the Moon.

What were you like in school?
I was a dork and a goofball and not at all the popular one. Most of the time I pretended that I didn’t care what anyone else thought, even though I totally did. I also was not into any sports or cliques or anything. I hated most people.
What were your favorite and worst subjects and why?
My favorite subject in high school was Spanish. I took up to Spanish VI in high school and went on to major in Spanish in college. If only I had done some study abroad I might actually be able to use it. I can still read and write pretty well but speaking Spanish makes me want to vomit in terror. My worst subject in high school was history. I guess I just didn’t care to learn the things I was forced to learn.
What’s a pet peeve of yours?
Misused apostrophes without a doubt.
How do you take your coffee/tea?
Mostly cream and splenda.
What is your snack of choice?
Popcorn.
What is your current favorite book and why?
The Strange the Dreamer duology by Laini Taylor. Still really into the whimsicalness of that book,
plus Steve West’s narration is magical.
Who’s your favorite author?
Yikes… probably Gail Carriger, Dawn Kurtagich, Laini Taylor and Jackson Ford.
Is there a book you’ve read multiple times? Why do you keep going back to it?
Several. I reread things for comfort or just so I have something going on in the background since I mostly
listen to audiobooks.
What’s your current favorite TV show? Why is it so good?
Um… What We Do In the Shadows is pretty great since it’s dry humor and vampires.
What are your top 5 favorite films?
Ghostbusters II, Clue, Little Shop of Horrors, Moulin Rouge, the original IT miniseries,
although the new set is good, too.

What’s your favorite Disney movie?
The Emperor’s New Groove. I swear I'm going to be Yzma one day.
​Who is your favorite superhero?
I’m a fan of the X-Men in general. I do love to be Phoenix and Jubilee, but I don’t think they’re my favorites.

Horror, without question, bonus points for B-horror.

Who is someone you know that you deeply admire? Have you let them know that you feel this way?
January LaVoy. I’m fairly certain in my nonsensical fangirling when we had her on the show I might have told her she’s great. I can’t be sure and I’m too embarrassed to go back and listen. She’s the reason why I became an audiobook narrator. I also deeply admire audiobook producer Elece Green, who we've also had on the show and I also fangirled at. She's so talented and the books she's produced (including but not limited to all of Dawn Kurtagich's books) are my most favorite audiobooks of all time.

What's the weirdest Wikipedia rabbit hole you've stumbled down?
Pronunciation guides probably. That’s just sad.
What's your favorite physical attribute about yourself?
My eyes, but definitely not my eyebrows, or lack thereof.

If you could do anything for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Narrate audiobooks or be the voice of a cartoon character.

Um… Locke & Key maybe? Or The Haunting of Hill House? I can’t remember which.

Harry Potter, Twilight, the best worst way to record a podcast.
Where’s your favorite place to nap?
In the bed with Forensic Files on in the background.
What fashion trend needs to be brought back?
Hats. Hats for everyone!
What smell do you hate that doesn’t seem to bother other people?
Anything having to do with babies.
What’s your idea of a great party?
Playing terrible games and eating too many snacks.
